INTRODUCTION

In 1983, Nepal embraced the multi-university idea. Pokhara University (PU) was planned in 1986, but it was not formed until 1997, when the Pokhara University Act was passed. The Chancellor and Pro-Chancellor are the current Honorable Prime Minister and the Honorable Minister for Education of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, respectively. The Vice Chancellor, the university’s chief executive officer, is appointed by the Chancellor. The Registrar’s job is to help him with money management and general administration. PU is a non-profit autonomous organization that is financed in part by the Nepalese government and in part by fees collected from students and associated institutions.

OBJECTIVES

The objective of Pokhara University are

  • To promote business sector involvement in higher education via extension programs to develop skilled human resources in science and technology, humanities and management, law and education for nation building.
  • Establish an academic atmosphere that is healthy, disciplined, and results-oriented, with an emphasis on higher education accelerate socio-economic change in accordance with community services by promoting competitive and high-quality higher education via fair competition.

Pokhara University offers a bachelor’s degree in hotel management.

Pokhara University (PoU) offers a four-year Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) curriculum that educates graduates to work in the hotel and tourist sector as managers, executives, and entrepreneurs with a strategic approach to business. This curriculum combines management theory with a mix of hospitality courses and internships to create a unique degree.

This course is split into eight semesters and is based on the semester system. There are a total of 122 credits earned throughout the course of eight semesters. There are 35 courses in all, including project work and reporting. Students will have the option to undertake an internship in the seventh semester. Some of the major courses that students must take while studying BHM include Business Communication, Production, Business Mathematics, Accommodation Operations, English, Tourism and Hospitality, Rooms Division Management, Business Statistics, Computer Applications, Beverage Agent, and so on.

Bachelor of Hotel Management Admissions Requirements

Admissions Criteria: Applicants must meet the following criteria in order to be considered for admission:

Candidates interested in studying BHM must have completed +2 or an intermediate level equal to +2 from one of Pokhara University’s approved institutions.
Candidates must get at least 45 percent or 2.00 CGPA on their +2 final exam or an equivalent level.
Every year in the month of August, admissions open. Candidates must first take the Pokhara University admission exam before proceeding to the personal interview.

Admissions documents required:

Application form that has been completely filled out and signed.
Official SLC and +2 certificates, or credentials of any comparable level.
Two recent PP-sized images.

Procurers of Selection:

Candidates are chosen based on their previous academic achievement, admission exam score, performance in interviews, and group discussion.
